We have an old BPT analogue video intercom system with five video handsets around the house. The old system must be 10 years old and is continually failing. I want to have it upgraded to a new IP video intercom. The problem being the wiring is in the walls and replacing it isn't really an option without making a lot of decorating mess. The existing cable is an 8 core multicore cable including a small gauge coax cable. Any suggestions what we could use ?

We recently completed a similar upgrade. We chose to use Veracity LongSpan units, VLS-1P-C and VLS-1P-B. Just remember you need one pair of cables for non-Poe but two pairs if you want data and PoE. They're not the cheapest units available but they worked first time.

We then used the new Acuvox X7HD 7" indoor touchscreen intercom system. Very cost effective and good quality, and easy to configure. We got the Akuvox from www.cie-group.com
