We have an old, old, Newgate barrier that has worked for way over 10 years, but its finally given up and died.
I think one of the limit switches broke which allowed the barrier to 'over raise' and its damaged the who mechanism inside the barrier.
So, we need a new 5.5 meter barrier. The old Newgate barrier was very reliable so I will give them a call, but I wondered if anyone had any recommendations, or what do you install.? I've read that standards have changed now in terms of safety beams and flashing lights etc which we didn't have on the old barrier, but I guess all new barriers will come with these safety devices ?

Personally I would stick with Newgate barriers. Standards have changed over the years but all Newgate barriers are fully compliant. We fit Newgate as standard and they are a very reliable product. We've tried Came BPT in the past with mixed results.
